Hello and welcome! My name is Taryn, which means Wild Goat. Hopefully I won’t ever look like one, but the Creator gave each one of us instinct and the whisper of mine often sounds like ‘climb the mountain’ even though I’m really fond of the meadow. It’s a call to trust that I am capable of going wherever He may lead me.
Apparently I was talking before I was walking and I have been writing for as long as I can remember. Journals, letters, scrap pieces of paper, the backs of serviettes and receipts are filled with musings and one of my happiest places is scribbling down what is bubbling over in my head and heart. I’m in the car you are hooting at, the one that is not moving even though the light is now green – I am inspired, you see, and am rummaging for paper, a pen or even some dust on the window to capture the thought.
I am passionate about words, stories and conversations and believe they have the power to touch, move, impact, heal, encourage, ignite hope and inspire the human heart. If words can have such an effect, why are mine all written down and squirrelled away like a word-eating mouse preparing for the winter? So this is me not writing in secret anymore. I am a pen and paper girl and I’m in over my head with this screen, but this is me beginning to climb. I will do what I love and, this time, make the words available.
My writings are not professional or perfect, but I love Jesus who is the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14 verse 6) and if there was ever a time to need those things, it’s now. John 8 verse 12 says “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” Perhaps you will smile as you imagine me typing away, in the light, and you will feel a nudge to do what makes you feel afraid and vulnerable yet astoundingly alive. Do it for one, for many, for your family, for all!
